Improved Racing's bolt-on oil cooler kit adds extreme oil cooling performance to the 5th Gen Camaro SS. This kit will lower peak oil temperatures by as much as 30-50°F. Because it eliminates the factory water-to-oil cooler setup, water temps will decrease as well.
The Improved Racing kit is not only essential for track use, but also perfectly streetable. Thanks to the built-in oil thermostat, engine oil reaches safe operating temperatures quickly even during casual street driving.
The kit includes professionally assembled, lightweight -10AN oil lines featuring a Viton rubber interior, stainless reinforcement, and a silicone-fiberglass sleeve for protection from header heat and flames.
The thermostat is available in three temperature ratings: 180°F, 200°F, and 212°F. The 212°F unit is recommended for special racing applications where a high oil viscosity is used. The 180°F and 200°F units are recommended for mixed street and track use. Not sure what to use? Go with the 200° unit.

I'm running a high compression LS7 based LSX 440ci motor in my 14 Camaro SS, and was experiencing higher oil temps due to the fact that the stock transmission gearing mated with a newly installed 3.91 rear gear had my 5th gear cruising RPM's at 2800+ rpms (6th gear is unusable under 80 mph due to the cam in the car).
I chose this kit mainly due to the size of the cooler itself, and the fact that it completely eliminated the stock oil cooler/heater, that could not keep up with my set-up. I also I liked the thermostatic inlet/outlet block that this kit included vs a sandwich plate style oil inlet/outlet offered by another manufacturer's kit I was considering on buying.
The kit comes complete with everything you need to install the cooler. The parts were packaged nicely, and everything installed perfectly. Installation was a little tough (removing the stock oil cooler while in the car with headers - the stock coolant line block fitting hits the driver's side motor mount when screwing out), and the instructions could have been a little better, but overall it wasn't very hard.
On my particular set-up, on a 100 degree high humidity day, this kit netted me approximately 10-15 degrees over the stock cooler. I'm hoping for a little more on cooler days, but all in all, I'm satisfied with this kit.
