Improved Racing's thermostatic oil cooler adapter makes it easy to add an oil cooler to your C5 Corvette. The built-in thermostat automatically bypasses the cooler until safe operating temperatures are reached. No more worrying about over-cooling engine oil or long warm-up times!

This version of the EGM-112 includes a custom 1/8" NPT oil temp sensor (part number LC5-100) that matches the resistance curve of the OEM C5 Corvette oil temp sensor. The sensor comes with an extended wire harness and an OEM connector making it 100% plug-and-play with the factory harness with no modifications required. This retains the functionality of the factory C5 Corvette oil gauge exactly as stock.

Installation Notes
  • Note: This oil adapter is designed for O-ring boss fittings with a straight thread length of 0.500" or less. We recommend using our fittings in order to guarantee proper fitment and seal.
  • Corvette motor mounts: We recommend using a 90-degree AN fitting on the top port and a 90-degree AN fitting on the front (angled) port to connect the oil lines to this adapter.

This is bar far the best oil cooler adapter design for the LS engine family. I have it installed on my C5 but I would recommend for any vehicle platform, just use an Autometer temp gauge or re-route the factory to here. This is the best location (oil out from block to cooler) to measure temp.

So my setup makes 850 rwhp and produces a lot of heat. I have an LSx 427 with an F1A Procharger and 2" Kooks primaries. It says in the notes here that it will not fit an LSx but it does. -8 AN will fit with no problems but I have -10 an lines (as you should) and there is a very minimal 5 minute clearance job needed on the block. The LSx block has a plugged port in the back for an external oil line. This port boss is very thick and you slightly radius the corner of the boss and take some off the "IN" fitting -10AN hose end b nut flat. I could have easily made a -12AN work but saw no need to use -12AN lines.

The temperatures and pressure are awesome. It heats the oil to operating temp quickly and stabilizes at 201*F and 45psi idle. On a hot 95* day and running hard, oil temp goes to 208*F. Remember this is oil out of the block temp. I have a 180*F on 175*F off temp switch to control the fan on my 19 Row Derale stack plate cooler. The switch is after the cooler and going to the "IN" port. This way the system does not oscillate and run the fan when the adapter thermostat is closed. It only runs the fan when there is actually flow going through the cooler and when it's hot enough (let the cooler do it's job and then help it with the fan if there isn't enough air flow). So I know when my fan is on, cooler out temp is 180*F and engine out temp is 208*F and 40 psi.

I am very please with how my setup is working and it is all made possible by this innovative products. Thank you for designing this part and I hope many more will be able to utilize its great design.
